Play Situps Games on Cadoo
Cadoo situps games use your phone camera and AI pose detection to count your reps and score your form. No fitness tracker needed. Just prop up your phone, do your situps, and earn money for every rep. Situps target your abs, obliques, hip flexors, and core stabilizers.
How Video Exercise Games Work
Instead of a fitness tracker, situps games use your phone camera. Cadoo uses AI-powered pose detection (MediaPipe) to track your body position in real time. The AI identifies your joints, measures angles, counts reps, and scores your form. You record your workout, and the video is analyzed to determine your rep count and form quality.
How to Record Your Reps
- Join a situps game from the Cadoo home screen.
- Tap "Record" when you are ready to do your reps.
- Position your phone so the camera can see your entire body from the side. Prop it against something stable 6-8 feet away.
- Face sideways to the camera. The AI works best when it can see your full body profile (left or right side).
- Fit inside the outline. The app shows an outline on screen. Adjust your position until your body fits inside it.
- Do a practice rep to qualify. The app will confirm your rep was detected before starting the real recording.
- Perform your reps at a steady pace. The AI counts each completed rep in real time.
How Cadoo Scores Your Form
Every rep gets a form score from 0 to 100%. The score is based on two factors:
- Depth (60% of score) — How deep you go on each rep. Deeper is better.
- Lockout (40% of score) — How fully you extend at the top of each rep. Full extension is better.
Your overall form score is the average of all your rep scores. You need at least 60% to pass.
Depth Scoring for Situps
The AI measures your hip angle (shoulder-hip-knee). When you sit up, the ideal angle is 80 degrees. You must reach at least 100 degrees to register as a completed sit-up.
Lockout Scoring for Situps
When lying back down, your hip angle should return to at least 155 degrees (near flat). Ideal is 165 degrees. This ensures you complete the full range of motion on each rep.
What Counts as a Rep?
A rep counts when you complete the full movement cycle:
- Start position: Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
- Down phase: Start lying flat with your shoulders on or near the ground. Your hip angle should be around 155 degrees or more.
- Up phase: Curl your torso up until your shoulders are well off the ground. Ideal position is a hip angle of about 80 degrees.
If you do not reach the required depth or do not return to full extension, the rep may not count or may receive a low form score.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Not sitting up high enough (shoulders barely leave the ground)
- Not lying fully flat between reps
- Pulling on your neck instead of using your abs
- Feet coming off the ground during the movement
Tips for a Perfect Score
- Good lighting is essential. Film in a well-lit room so the AI can see your body clearly.
- Face sideways. The AI tracks joint angles best from a side view.
- Show your full body. Make sure head to feet are visible in the frame.
- Go slow and controlled. Fast, jerky movements are harder for the AI to track.
- Full range of motion. Go all the way down and all the way up on every rep for the best score.
- Wear fitted clothing. Loose or baggy clothes can obscure your joint positions.

Do I need a fitness tracker for video exercises?
No. Video exercises use your phone camera. No tracker or wearable needed.
What does the form score mean?
Your form score (0-100%) reflects how well you perform each rep. It is based on depth (60%) and lockout (40%). You need at least 60% to pass.
Can I use the front camera?
Yes, but the rear camera often has better quality. Use whichever lets you capture your full body from the side.
How many situps do I need to do?
It depends on the game. Each game has its own rep goal. Some require a daily target, others a total over the challenge period.
What if the AI does not count my rep?
Make sure you are completing the full range of motion (going deep enough and returning to full extension). Also check that your full body is visible and you are facing sideways.
